The University of Cumbria has extensive experience in delivering high quality paramedic education across the UK. Currently we have over 1100 learners on CPD programmes with formal contracts with 9 out of the 11 English ambulance services, as well as an open access paramedic course at our Lancaster campus. This pedigree in paramedic education has led to the creation of the Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice (CEPP), which recently won the Preferred Provider Status for the Southern Ambulance Alliance (SWAST, SCAS, SECAMB, LAS, IoW), East of England Ambulance Service and North West Ambulance Service for paramedic degree apprenticeships. The University now has over 900 registered learners across the 6 apprenticeship programmes.&nbsp;</p><p>The London Ambulance Service (LAS), in conjunction with the University of Cumbria, are seeking applications for <strong>a 2-year fixed term post</strong>. The successful post holder will work with the LAS academic team to deliver the University&#39;s BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science to LAS members of staff who are undertaking the new Paramedic Science Degree Apprenticeship. &nbsp;</p><p>The post, will be based in London however there may be the requirement to travel to neighbouring Trusts to support the delivery of the same programme. The post holder should be an appropriately registered healthcare professional with experience of working within the pre-hospital environment as well as experience in delivering either ambulance based pre-hospital education or Higher Education Institution based healthcare education. Post holders will be supported to complete the first module of the postgraduate certificate in learning and teaching in higher education if this has not been achieved already. The first students joined the 4-year post graduate MBBS programme in 2025/26. Applying the University of Cumbria&rsquo;s experience in training nurses, midwives and other professions allied to medicine, alongside Imperial&rsquo;s expertise in medical education, the School&rsquo;s aim is to train doctors who are embedded in their local community ready to contribute to services across the region and beyond.</p><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join PCSM. &nbsp;As Programme and Assessment Officer you will have responsibility for the day to day planning and delivery of all operational aspects for two-years of the MBBS medical degree programme, working closely with the academic team and with support from a Programme and Assessment Officer working on the other two-years of the MBBS and the Programme Administrator. You will take a key role in identifying, planning and implementing our approach to programme and assessment administration.
