We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
The Institute of Science and Environment is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic lecturer in outdoor learning with knowledge and experience in outdoor education and the ability to teach outdoor activities.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual, keen to join an enthusiastic team with a passion for creating transformational learning experiences. You will be integral to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as keen to contribute to future developments. You will have an interest in research specifically within the area of outdoor education and/or learning. Candidates should hold a relevant first and/or higher degree and have a genuine ability to facilitate learning in diverse contexts (class and field based).
You will join a successful, practical and research informed teaching team with a reputation for innovation in course design and development. Prior experience in teaching in higher education is not essential. For those new to teaching, the University offers a PgC in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education.
