We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
As our Professional Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for timetabling and booking a programme of professional development courses for delivery at a range of locations (including online and in person) in response to client demand and market potential. You will work with lead customers, training providers, associate tutors and venue providers to plan and coordinate the delivery of a programme of courses.
Part of this role will involve interacting with students throughout their student journey from application and enrolment through attendance and assessment to receiving awards. You will also develop a good understanding of the current and potential Professional Development course provision, will be responsible for day-to-day interactions with clients and collaborators, and will play an active role in customer relationship management.
As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable working with a range of external clients and stakeholders and with administrative and academic staff. You will be highly organised with an eye for detail and a professional approach.
You will work in the Institute of Business, Industry & Leadership, which was created in 2019 to bring together the University’s programmes in Business and Law, Leadership, Project Management, Tourism Management and Policing and Criminology, and provides education including Degree Apprenticeships, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, CPD courses and professional qualifications, and research and consultancy across these areas.
The IBIL CPD team supports a large programme of short and professional courses, primarily in project management, and consists of seven staff dealing with all aspects of CPD from development to planning and scheduling, to delivery and evaluation as well as financial administration.
