Lecturer Project Management

We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

This particular opportunity is to join the Project Management team, contributing to our undergraduate programmes including degree apprenticeships, Bachelor degrees and University Certificates. The University of Cumbria is currently the largest undergraduate project management team in the UK with over 1000 learners and more than 30 staff involved. We work with over 50 different employers from a broad range of industry sectors to help them recruit, train and develop their staff in all aspects of project management and project controls.  Expertise in a project related discipline would be desirable, but perhaps of more importance is a passion for teaching, with an aim to deliver high quality, engaging learning experiences for our students.  Our delivery takes place in several forms, the two main approaches being live online delivery or live in-person delivery.  Ongoing support for our learners between their formal taught sessions is a key part of this role and this is provided asynchronously with learners through online learning platforms or other communication tools.

Informal Enquiries: Charles Dobson (charles.dobson@cumbria.ac.uk), Principal Lecturer in Project Management.

We are seeking innovative, creative, high quality practitioners, lecturers, researchers, and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.

In return, the University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, 25 research and scholarly activity days, support for professional development, support to achieve Higher Education Academy/Advance HE accreditation, mentor provision in the first year of employment and opportunity for career development.
