We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
With a new campus having opened in Barrow in September 2025 and work underway on the Citadels project, which is a key project within our One Carlisle Programme, you will assist our Director of Estates and Commercial Services to deliver our strategic ambitions across our multiple sites, ensuring the effective and efficient planning, creation and operation of the university’s estate.
Your immediate priority will be to manage the successful delivery of the Citadels project in Carlisle, which is scheduled for opening in 2028. In addition to managing internal university stakeholders and a team of appointed consultants, contractors and suppliers, you will be responsible for liaison with external stakeholders, including Cumberland Council, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the Borderlands Partnership to ensure that all land, property, funding, procurement, design and build activities are successfully delivered.
As a member of a relevant professional body, you will demonstrate a successful track record in capital project development and delivery, and experience of delivering transformational change. You will demonstrate effective influencing and problem-solving skills matched with an ability to proactively collaborate with Institute Directors and Heads of Service to ensure that short, medium and long term aspirations and operations are delivered.
Interviews are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 31st October 2025.
