We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
We are currently seeking an experienced and innovative Specialist Digital Simulation Technician to provide technical expertise to support our expanding portfolio of simulation, immersive learning and digital education technologies within the Faculty of Health.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation passionate about transforming its students’ learning and investing in the future of healthcare education through use of advanced simulation equipment, virtual (VR) and extended reality (XR) systems, artificial intelligence-enabled learning technologies and immersive digital environments.
You will play a pivotal role in the development, operation and continuous enhancement of these technologies and of our clinical skills and simulation facilities, supporting the delivery of authentic, technology-enhanced learning experiences for students across Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health programmes.
Working closely with academic teams, technical colleagues, and external partners, you will lead the technical implementation and ongoing development of innovative simulation solutions at the University’s Lancaster campus to enhance student engagement, clinical competence and graduate employability. As part of this, you will be encouraged to explore new approaches, influence institutional strategy, and contribute to sector-leading practice in simulation and immersive education.
The successful candidate will be a technically skilled and creative professional who is passionate about the future of healthcare education. You should enjoy exploring new technologies, solving complex technical challenges and working collaboratively to develop innovative learning experiences.
If you are passionate about simulation, emerging technologies, and transforming the student learning experience through innovation, we would very much welcome your application.
