This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young people to consider higher education and help them realise their potential. Part of the <a href="https://www.officeforstudents.org.uk/for-providers/equality-of-opportunity/uni-connect/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Uni Connect Programme</a>, this role is fixed term until 31st July 2027.</p><p>As an Outreach Officer, you&#39;ll design and deliver engaging activities for schools and colleges, working with learners from a wide range of backgrounds. You will ensure students receive timely, accurate and supportive guidance while helping to coordinate service delivery across campus.</p><p>You will:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Act as a central point of expertise for complex student enquiries</li><li>Working with the Gateway Manager to support and guide Campus Assistants, contributing to team coordination and service quality</li><li>Work collaboratively across university services to deliver seamless student experience</li><li>Drive service improvements and contribute to a welcoming, well-managed campus environment</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We are looking for a candidate with strong customer service expertise and a passion for supporting students, alongside experience of Higher Education and its student support services, this is essential for success in the role.</p><p>You will:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Have significant experience in student services, customer service or a related environment</li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of student support processes and needs within higher education</li><li>Experience of university, its operations and student community</li><li>Be confident handling complex or sensitive enquiries with professionalism and empathy</li><li>Have experience supporting or supervising colleagues and contributing to a high-performing team</li><li>Be proactive, organised and committed to delivering excellent service</li></ul><p><strong>Working Arrangements</strong></p><p>This position is based on-site at our Ambleside campus due to its practical, hands-on, and student-facing responsibilities.
