Are you an advocate for excellence in Learning Disability nursing and want to be involved in teaching the next generation of Learning Disability nurses? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer’s post in Learning Disability Nursing here at the University of Cumbria, working with students who are studying through the Standard UCAS entry and those through the Apprenticeship route. You will work as part of our dynamic and inspiring team of nurse lecturers and sit within the friendly, supportive, innovative Learning Disability team.
Essential elements of the role are teaching and assessment, module coordination, supporting students with their academic studies, their clinical practice experiences and pastoral support. Additional responsibilities will include the promotion of the field of Learning Disability nursing to prospective students, working with practice partners and potential employers. Our programme is delivered face-to-face and is designed to reflect the NMC’s Future Nurse Standards. Effective links with practice will be maintained with the role of link lecturer (Academic Assessor), working closely with students and practice partners.
This exciting opportunity is suitable for anyone who has experience of teaching or anyone wishing to begin a career in academia and brings with them contemporary knowledge from practice.
We would welcome applications for a substantive post or anyone wishing to take advantage of secondment opportunities.
The University of Cumbria takes great pride in our Learning Disability Nursing students, who have an excellent reputation and have been shortlisted for national awards. Every day is different and rewarding.
